Angelika Zerfass

Angelika Zerfass, a translator for Chinese/Japanese/German by training worked as a training and support specialist for Trados from 1997 to 2000. During that time, she was responsible for training, presentation and technical support for Trados tools used at Microsoft Japan and later in the US. Since 2000 she is a freelance trainer and consultant for translation tools, based in Bonn, Germany.
She speaks frequently at conferences like Localization World and tekom as well as workshops like the Localization and Project Management Certification Workshops or ELIA events.
Anne-Marie Colliander Lind

Anne-Marie Colliander Lind has more than twenty years of expertise in helping global businesses solve their translation, localization, and technology issues, and has carried out numerous sales and executive management positions at service and technology market leaders in the translation industry. Previously, Ms. Colliander Lind served as International Sales Director for Semantix in Sweden and prior to that as CEO for TRADOS Scandinavia AB, where she worked for nearly a decade.
At Common Sense Advisory, Anne-Marie oversees the firm’s European business development and account management.
Balázs Kis
Managing Director, Kilgray
Balázs coordinates Kilgray’s strategy with the actions. He’s a hands-on person: if anything seems to be in danger, he steps in personally to help in solving the problem. Balázs has a degree in IT engineering from the Technical University of Budapest and a PhD in applied linguistics from the University of Pécs.
Prior to founding Kilgray, he was a Microsoft systems engineer and trainer (MCSE, MCT) and the most prominent Hungarian IT author with over 20 titles published. He was also the head of research and development at MorphoLogic, and taught translation technology at the ELTE University of Budapest. He’s got massive experience in collaborative translation and project management - besides writing his own titles, he coordinated the translation of over fifty Microsoft Press books at the publishing house SZAK.
Bob Donaldson

Donaldson is a well-known speaker and sought after strategic consultant in language technology tools and language service business models. As VP of Strategy, he managed McElroy Translation’s technology roadmap including development of the groundbreaking McElroy Hub™ and several innovative applications of SMT. Before McElroy, Donaldson worked with companies in many industries, helping them with strategic technology decisions and deployments. He has over 25 years of experience in creative technology application including executive management positions in a number of software companies. Combined with his educational background in Slavic Linguistics and experience as an army Russian linguist, this gives him a unique combination of technology and industry-insider perspectives.
Carsten Peters is both the startup founder of the publishing company Rodrigues-Peters and an independent consultant offering localization process improvement. He holds a degree in Technical Translation from the University of Hildesheim, Germany, and an Executive MBA from Foro Europeo Business School, Spain. In addition to that, he is a certified Linux LPI and Cisco CCNA trainer. After studying and working in several countries such as Brazil, England and Spain, he finally relocated to Austria where he is enjoying the beautiful landscape of the Alps will all its pleasures.
Carsten Peters currently devotes all his time to his publishing company Rodrigues-Peters and process improvement projects at other companies.

Doug Lawrence is a founder of Amicus TransTec Limited. He is a veteran of the translation industry. After holding positions in the world's largest translation tool provider Trados, and some of the industry's leading translation companies, including Berlitz, SimulTrans and Conversis, Lawrence identified a need for a new type of translation software tools provider. Together with a team of like minded translation experts Lawrence formed Amicus TransTec.
Typically translation tool providers sell one main tool and therefore find it difficult to recommend other tools even if they are more appropriate for the client. Because Amicus TransTec provide a range of tools we can afford to make recommendations even if it means we won't win the immediate business. Gábor L. Ugray
Head of Development, Kilgray
Gábor is the head of development, but you’d hardly dare to call him a geek. Besides his mother tongue Hungarian he speaks a fluent English, German, Spanish and some Dutch and Chinese as well. He translated many thousands of pages as a freelance translator and he also wrote a machine translation engine for MorphoLogic. He’s got a lot of experience with language technology - not only the statistical technology language-independent translation tools are using but also rule-based language specific technologies -, and his mantra is software ergonomics.
Besides managing a team of over ten developers, he remains involved in the program code: during specification he carefully designs the user interface and during testing he identifies and fixes any performance bottlenecks.
Gergely Vándor
Lifecycle Manager, Kilgray
Gergely started his carrier as a translator and software localizer at Moravia, where he quickly became a language lead. Later on he gravitated towards the technical aspects of translation, and after spending a short time as a translation technology consultant he landed at Kilgray, where he holds the title of Lifecycle Manager. For the most part, he is involved with managing releases, quality assurance, and maintaining some of the file filters. He has also had some contributions to the design and the code of memoQ.
Grzegorz Wiśniewski

Grzegorz is a graduate of the Department of Languages for Specific Purposes at Warsaw University (Russian/English). He joined MAart Agency in September 2006 but he has been interested in translation process and translation techniques for a longer time.
Isabella Moore

Isabella Moore founded a company providing language services to industry in 1986, which she sold in 2002. From September 2002 to June 2004 she was the first female President of the British Chambers of Commerce and Vice-President of Eurochambres, the association of European Chambers of Commerce. She is a past Chairman of the Confederation of West Midlands Chambers of Commerce; past President of Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.
She has just completed a six year tenure as a Board member of Advantage West Midlands, the regional development agency for the West Midlands and Chairman of the West Midlands in Europe office and the Regional International Trade Strategy Group; she has been a member of the National Modern Apprenticeships Task Force; Chair of the National Women's Enterprise Panel, President of the Eurochambres Women's Network and Vice President of the SME Union in Brussels; Until March 2008 she was CEO of CILT, the National Centre for Languages. She is President of Prowess, the UK association of organisations and individuals who support the growth of women's business ownership and Chair of the Women’s Business Development Agency. She is now Managing Director of the company she originally founded, which she re-acquired with her daughter in 2007 and of J&AB Associates, a management and grant consultancy.
Isabella holds Honorary Doctorates from Sheffield Hallam University and Aston University for services to industry and languages and a Fellowship from the Institute of Linguists. She was awarded the CBE in the 2004 New Years Honours List.
István Lengyel

István is overseeing sales, marketing and finances, and thinks that there is nothing more important than channeling the customers’ business challenges to development and coming up with innovative yet easy-to-use solutions. He loves to work with customers who can articulate what they are looking for and believes that the best way of learning is through interaction. István has a degree in economics and a postgraduate degree in translation and interpreting, and if the company left him enough time to finish his PhD dissertation, he’d do so.
István also translated several books on business and IT into Hungarian and also designed a translation workflow system prior to joining Kilgray. He is a great fan of problem-solving expert selling.
Jean-Marie Guyot

Jean-Marie Guyot is General Manager of Kevrenn International, a Language Service Provider located in Rennes, France. In charge of Quality Assurance, he is also responsible for the development and integration of tools to improve the project management workflow and optimize the translation process.
Jean-Marie has over 20 years of experience in software localization, technical translation, and language management. A process-control and automation specialist, he discovered localization in 1988 when he joined Eurosoft Inc, a Silicon Valley localization company. For 4 years, he worked as a technical translator, QA specialist, software tester, and localization engineer. In 1992, he founded “HighTech Passport”, a translation company in San Jose CA, that he managed as president and CEO for 5 years. In 1997, he returned to his native Brittany to co-found and manage Kevrenn International.
Kevin Lossner

A former research chemist, teacher, technology consultant and software developer, since discovering modern translation technology a decade ago, he has tried to make its mysteries more accessible to those who have better things to do than fool around with software all day. Technology should bring out, not hinder human potential, and I am a fan of solutions that accomplish the former and an unsparing critic of those that do the latter.
His professional time is largely spent as a German to English technical translator and translation technology consultant with my partner near Berlin, Germany, punctuated by frequent breaks to train and maintain three active hunting dogs.
Laurence Roquet

As Lexcelera’s Chief Operations Officer, Laurence has a wide variety of responsibilities, including overseeing day to day operations, coordinating the sales and productions teams and making sure Lexcelera’s strategy is successfully deployed.
Laurence entered the localization industry 12 years ago as a Senior Project Manager for one of the largest localization company. Successive promotions to Vendor Manager, Resource Manager (linguists and engineers) and Business Unit Manager gave Laurence an in-depth understanding of client needs as well as of the management of complex multilingual projects. This wide ranging experience means that Laurence can now wear a number of caps, from production to finance.
Laurence has a Masters in Financial Management and Business Administration. She is fluent in both French and English.
Marlène Deshaies (Moderator)

Marlène Deshaies, certified translator in Canada, has a bachelor’s degree in translation from Concordia University and more than 25 years of experience in technical translation, especially in the field of information technology and localization, in addition to her expertise in project management.
She worked in localization for a major computer and software developer company for over six years. In 1994 she started a small business, Soft TRAD, specializing in technical translation and localization. In 2001, at the request of the Faculté de l’éducation permanente at the Université de Montréal, she helped create a certificate in localization. As part of this project, she also developed the Introduction to localization course, which she taught as a lecturer from 2001 to 2003. In addition, she has numerous large projects (over 500,000 words) to her credit, completed with the help of her team of professionals.
Over the past few years, she has given two presentations at OTTIAQ annual conferences. Since January 2010, she has also been contributing to the success of ADÉQUAT, Linguistic Services Inc. through her role as business development director.
Martin Beuster

Martin Beuster studied Philosophy, Linguistics and Literature at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen, Freie Universität Berlin, Germany and Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. He has trained as Localisation Engineer, is a certified Internal Quality Auditor of the ISO9000 Standard, and is currently member of the Industrial Advisory Board of the Localisation Research Centre (LRC) at the University of Limerick, Ireland.
Having worked in the industry for over 20 years with a variety of responsibilities including setting up international vendor base for the medical and life & material science sector, managing CAT tool and platform migrations, managing risk analysis and re-engineering of software testing processes, and managing global life & material science software localisation projects involving 17 client sites, his main focus currently is to develop and implement best practice fully integrated workflows for specific market demands.
Michel Hayen
Founder of MhSystems and Syscon
Michel Hayen is the founder of MhSystems and SysCon and currently holds the respective positions of general manager and managing associate in those enterprises. Even though his initial career prospects led him to enroll for an insurance and banking specialization programme, he soon developed a strong affinity for bits and bytes and novel ways to introduce them in a hands-on fashion to business environments. While still pursuing his financial degree, he therefore started MHSystems in 2004, offering business consultancy services grafted on versatile IT resources. By the time he graduated, his pet peeve soon outgrew the auxiliary status, inspiring him to found SysCon in order to match the apparent appeal of his solutions to ever larger customers.
In the wake of the booming importance of cloud computing in corporate settings, Syscon is firmly lodged on its current growth curve and Michel decided that the timing was perfect to join forces with the freshly started eMTeeQ corporation. Peter Reynolds

Peter is responsible for Kilgray’s strategy and Kilgray’s partnerships, including the academic and the training programs. He is a localization industry veteran who joined Kilgray after having worked for Berlitz, Bowne Global Solutions, Lionbridge and Idiom Technologies Inc. where he set up the successful LSP Advantage program. He holds an MBA from the Open University and has been the secretary of the XLIFF Technical Committee at OASIS. Peter keeps the company on track by setting targets and making sure these targets are met.
Siegmund Leducq was born and raised in Brussels, Belgium. After graduating from high school in 1992, he moved to Leuven to embark on an academic civil engineering stint. He soon decided to exchange theory for actual experience and explored a wide variety of trades, including translation, graphic design, IT consultancy and music production.
In 2004 he returned to an academic environment and obtained a master's degree in computational and variational linguistics in 2008. Subsequently, he enrolled in a master's programme in Management and later that same year he started working for a translation agency as senior project manager. This year he started eMTeeQ, a company which bundles his past experiences to provide all-in solutions for the translation business.
Stéphan Gervais

Cofounder of ADÉQUAT, Linguistic Services Inc., Stéphan Gervais is a certified translator with about 20 years of experience. His educational background includes studying translation, terminology, and linguistics at Concordia University and the University of Montréal.
In the years from founding his firm in 1993 to the present, Stéphan has gained experience in every facet of translation: terminology research, glossary building, file processing, reference-document mining, translation, revision, and quality assurance. His achievements also include many localization projects, the most important of which being an application with more than 800 windows and a help file containing nearly 1,000,000 words.
His keen interest in technology has led him to avidly explore how computer-aided translation tools, concordancers, and terminology databases function.
Thomas Imhof

Having studied Russian and English at Heidelberg university, Tom Imhof started his career as a Russian translator and terminologist at Mannesmann Demag, a German heavy engineering company. From 1998 he worked as Product Development Manager for MultiTerm and later as Enterprise Support Manager EMEA at Trados GmbH and from 2007 as Product Manager at Metaversum GmbH and at 24translate GmbH.
In 2009, Tom Imhof founded localix.biz – language technology consulting in Hamburg. The mission of localix.biz is to provide every stakeholder in the language industry with an affordable and smooth start into using CAT and translation workflow systems.

Thor Angelo is co-founder of LanguageWire. LanguageWire is a translation company founded in year 2000 and has today 70 employees and offices in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Germany.
